“Cool Kids Cook” host Kid Chef Eliana Makes List of “10 Most Famous Kid Critics
and Cooks”
Named by Fox News and The Daily Meal as one of the
world’s “10 Most Famous Kid Critics and Cooks,” 12 year old Kid Chef Eliana
grew up in a family of cooks. With grandparents from Cajun Louisiana, the
Philippines, Cuba, and Honduras, Eliana’s recipes have international flair. She
loves traveling and spending time in the kitchen with her family. Eliana says,
“I love being from New Orleans. There is so much food inspiration here!”
Eliana’s first cookbook, Eliana Cooks! Recipes for Creative Kids was
released in October 2010. Her cookbook, public appearances, and live cooking
demonstrations caught the attention of a publisher and her second cookbook, Cool
Kids Cook: Louisiana, the first in a series, will debut in Spring 2013
(Pelican Publishing).
Kid Chef Eliana also just signed with
Voice America Kids to host a global weekly radio show called “Cool Kids Cook,”
part of the Voice America network with over 4 million weekly listeners. On the
show, she interviews chefs, authors, and food industry movers and shakers. In
August 2012, she was a competitor in Super Chef Kids, a national cooking
competition webisode series filmed in New York City, created by the producers
of Iron Chef®, sponsored by Bounty® paper towels, and hosted by Carla Hall of
ABC’s show, “The Chew.”
At 10 years old, Kid Chef Eliana was
chosen as one of 13 Latinos profiled in a museum exhibit at the Southern Food
and Beverage Museum. She is featured in a book called The Parents’ Guide to
Raising CEO Kids by Dr. Jerry Cook and Sarah L. Cook and is a featured kid
chef on ZisBoomBah.com, a national website for kid foodies. She has cooked with
Celebrity Chef John Besh and has been a featured chef at many festivals
including the New Orleans Seafood Festival, the Louisiana Book Festival, and
the French Market Creole Tomato Festival. She does numerous media appearances
and interviews, cooking demonstrations, and book signings. Upcoming appearances
include being a featured cookbook author and chef at the Southern Food and
Beverage Museum Cookbook Fair and book signings in the French Quarter.
In the future, Eliana plans to design
chef wear and cookware for kids, create a line of spices, and host her own TV
cooking show. She also wants to teach kids that good food is more than chicken
nuggets and French fries. Her motto is, “Cool kids cook and get creative in the
kitchen!”
